Disability Access Rights supports families navigating the complexities of special education, IDEA, and ADA compliance.
Students with disabilities are entitled to equal access to education, data-driven instruction, and services designed to support measurable progress.
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Section 504, public schools must ensure that students with disabilities are provided an equal opportunity to access and benefit from educational programs, services, and activities.
Educational benefit must be as effective as compared that provided to their non-disabled peers.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to support families in advocating for students with disabilities to receive:
• Equal access to educational opportunities under the ADA
• Individualized programs grounded in objective, data-driven practices
• Services reasonably calculated to support meaningful progress
• Transparency and accountability from educational institutions
WHAT WE DO
We provide practical guidance and strategies to help families navigate special education, including:
• Frameworks for organizing IEP and educational records
• Strategies for preparing for, participating in, and following up after IEP meetings
• Guidance on asking informed questions regarding data, services, and legal compliance
• Approaches for ensuring IEP team decisions are supported by objective data and aligned with legal requirements
WHY THIS MATTERS
Too often, students with disabilities are denied equal access to effective instruction, appropriate services, and measurable progress. When systems lack transparency, data, and accountability, families are left without the information they need to advocate effectively.
We believe access to education is not optional—it is a legal right.
